Delete is a move, not an ending.

Almost every delete in the admin is soft. The record goes to the Trash carrying who removed it and when, and Restore puts it straight back where it was.

What the tool does

In the admin as · Content › Trash
01

Soft delete

Pages, assets, listings, records — deleting moves them to the Trash rather than removing them.

02

Restore

Restore puts a record straight back where it was, not into a holding pen you then have to re-file.

03

Destroy is separate

Permanent removal is its own action. For an asset it also removes the file from disk, and it says so before it does.

04

Who and when

The Trash carries who removed each thing and when, which is usually the question being asked when somebody goes looking.

05

Permission decides the view

With Publishing rights you see everything anyone deleted and can restore any of it. Without, you see your own.

The expensive mistakes are the quiet ones

The dangerous deletion is not the dramatic one. It is somebody tidying up, removing a page they were sure was unused, and nobody noticing for three weeks.

Soft deletion turns that from an incident into a click, and it means nobody has to be brave about tidying up.

A safety net you never think about.
